Computing
At Wygate Park Academy, we believe that all children should be confident and competent users of technology and use it to accomplish a wide range of goals both at home and in school.
We aim to ensure that by the time the children leave in Year 6, they have a secure and comprehensive knowledge of technical and digital systems and that this is important in a society where technology and trends are rapidly evolving.
Our computing curriculum gives the children the opportunity to develop and enhance their skills on Microsoft Office, use computational thinking to write and debug (where necessary) codes to achieve a task and build resilience when faced with key issues online such as digital communication, cyber-bullying and misuse of social media.
Have a look below to find out what our pupils think about their Computing lessons.
"E-Safety is so important to learn about because it keeps us safe on the internet because we're young and need to learn how to deal with issues and protect ourselves."
"I enjoyed making a Power Point linked to our learning about Ancient Greece. We looked at using different fonts, colours, transitions and information to make our presentation interesting and presented them to our class."
"We learn what to do things online such as reporting, blocking and telling adults if we see something we don't like. We know what ages we should be on different social media and try our best to keep safe."
