School uniform plays a valuable role by: setting an appropriate tone; instilling pride; supporting positive behaviour and discipline; encouraging identity with, and support for, the school ethos; ensuring pupils of all races and backgrounds feel welcome; protecting children from social pressures to dress in a particular way; and, nurturing cohesion and promoting good relations between different groups of pupils. We believe, therefore, that school uniform supports effective teaching and learning.

Similarly, for the same reasons, we detail in our policy ‘appearance’ codes. Both uniform and appearance will be monitored and, when applicable, parents will be requested and required to conform with both aspects of the policy. Where finance constraints are preventing this (uniform), please speak in confidence to the Head of School/Principal. Pupils attending Wygate Park Academy are required to wear a uniform

All children will wear:-

Embroidered Logo Uniform:

Round neck sweatshirt
V-neck sweatshirt
Polo t-shirt
Reversable Zip Fleece jacket

Uniforms can be purchased from:

Long hair should be tied up for PE activities.

The Head teacher may grant exceptions to any of the above, but only where this is required as a matter of sincere religious observance and where this can be substantiated by a letter from the leader of the relevant religious community.
