The Boston Witham Academies Federation will be presenting a celebration of musical achievement at the Gliderdrome on Saturday 23rd June 2018. WYGATE PARK ACADEMY PTA UPDATE

The Wygate Park Academy PTA have been busy organising fun events for the children this year and in the process, raised lots of money for the school. We have already had a disco, Easter Craft Fayre, Pumpkin carving competition, just to name a few. The recent Easter Craft Fayre raised a fabulous £115. Behind the scenes, the School Council have also been busy raising money to provide some outdoor toys and games for the children to use at playtimes. [...]

Wygate Gardening Gurus

Members of the Spalding Rotary Club, joined with Wygate’s House Captains and children from the Oaks and Willows class, to plant trees which were kindly donated by the Woodlands Trust. This first stage of planting trees, starts the schools exciting journey of developing its outdoor learning environment. Tri-Golf Triumph

Children from Year 3 took part in a Tri-Golf Tournament at Holbeach Sports Community Centre today (20.03.18) organised by ELITE Sports Academy. The children were accompanied by Miss Wenninger and ELITE Coach Jack. The boys played fantastically well and managed to finish 3rd, with a score of 326. A brilliant achievement and well done to all schools who took part and thank you to ELITE for organising a great day out for all.    

Year 3 “Tribal Tales”

Year 3 had a very exciting start to their ‘Tribal Tales’ topic this term, after our visit to Wild Woodcraft near Lincoln! The children went back in time to find out what it would have been like to survive in Stone Age times. All the children had the opportunity to explore a Stone Age camp, handling real artefacts such as fur coats and spears and were able to ask lots of questions about life all those years ago. Year 2 “Little Riddlers”

In preparation for the Harvest Assembly back in October, the Year 2 children decided to explore riddles, as part of their English focus. Over the course of a week, the children conducted research about riddle poems and their structures, chose a harvest related object and then began constructing their poems using a range of adjectives, similes and onomatopoeia words. He’s Behind You!!!

As a special Christmas treat for all the hard work the children have put in this term the school invited a Pantomime in, for the whole school to watch. Sleeping Beauty was performed by Panto-Lada Productions and all the children (and staff!) had an amazing time!  

Firemen Visit The Oaks Class

The children were very excited when the firefighters came to visit! They all had the opportunity to sit in the fire engine, listen to the loud siren, see the blue lights flashing and use the hose! The firefighters taught the children how to help yourself if your clothes set on fire… STOP, DROP & ROLL and the children had the chance to practise this in the classroom.
