Do Cows Drink Milk?

To kick start our new topic: ‘Do cows drink milk?’ the reception children visited Sacrewell Farm! They had a lovely day, finding our way around the farm seeing all the different animals & old machinery they had from the past which the children were interested in. They were particularly excited to see the new and very small piglets & were very keen to have a go at milking the plastic cow ‘Daisy’!

Trip to Woodside Wildlife Park

As part of our topic Paws, Claws and Whiskers, Year 1 went on a trip to Woodside Wildlife Park. During our trip we learnt lots about white wolves, reptiles, capybaras (the largest rodent in the world), tigers and owls. We got to watch the white wolves, tigers and lynx be fed and learnt about the food groups these animals belong in. In the afternoon, we were very brave and some of us held a snake and touched a blue [...]

Memory Box

This term in Year 1 our topic has been ‘Memory Box’ we have found out lots about each others memories and looked back at how school life has changed and our local area. To help us talk about the past and how we have grown and changed we brought in items from when we were younger and talked about why we don’t need or use them anymore. In Geography we went on a walk around the local area to [...]

World Book Day

Children were invited to join the fun at school on World Book Day earlier this month. They dressed as their favourite character from their favourite book, to promote our love for reading. Children then completed various activities within their classrooms, including word [...]

Why can’t I have chocolate for breakfast?

In foundation stage, the pupils have been thinking about food, in particular where different foods come from, foods that are healthy and unhealthy for them and what happens to food when it gets old. As part of our engage week to introduce the new topic, the children made their very own pizzas! They chose their favourite topping, wrote it down on an order form and then the best part…ate it later on! To complete the topic they had a very [...]

Baytree Owl Centre Visit

The children visited Baytree Owl Centre to look at the birds of prey. They had lots of questions they wanted to answer so they asked the experts and read all the information boards. As part of the innovate week the children used paint.net to create their own ultimate predator. They used a teacher of their choice and used their favourite predatory features to turn them into an ultimate predator.

Games and Story Club

We have had a fun term and a half in games and story clubs. We have learnt to play a range of games and have developed our social skills through taking turns and following rules.
